On our East African Webinar, we discussed the topic "Building Employability Skills through Adult and Non-Formal Education for Employment and Job Creation." The focus was on how Adult and Non-Formal Education can help individuals acquire relevant skills to re-enter the job market, ultimately contributing to economic resilience and social inclusion. The webinar aimed to examine how ANFE can facilitate job creation, improve employability, and challenge the idea that the crisis is more about a shortage of skills than a lack of jobs.
The discussion involved Geofrey Nchimbi, the Principal of Newala Folk Development College, Mwajuma Mohamed, an Assistant Lecturer from the Institute of Adult Education, and Dr. Sara Jehi from the University of Bahir Dar in Ethiopia. It was a very productive conversation.
